It's all just a matter of perspectives, preferences, and immediate goals. So not all players are guaranteed to consider the slower travel speeds or longer dismount times to be negatives they could, in fact, be considered positives for some players, if it adds to the experience they're looking for. They are only worse if speed and efficiency are the only factors you're looking for in your transportation. The fact that a number is lower than another number, doesn't make it "objectively worse", it just makes it "objectively lower" there's a huge difference. The only thing that is objective about them, is that one of the numbers is lower than the other, and one of the numbers is higher than the other. The non-boosted travel speed and dismount speed you mention would only be "objectively worse", if there were no other factors to consider and no other ways of looking at them. I would like to see beast mounts reworked so they're at least a comparable alternative to brooms. Which means development time was wasted on them. I want to say it's nice they've added them, but an objectively worse option that "looks cool" means it won't be used. They don't have a boost so they will always move slower than brooms. You have to hold forward at all times, unlike with brooms where you can toggle "auto-fly". The beast mounts are objectively worse in pretty much every way except visually. I appreciate them putting the beast mounts in. Its not practical at all, the broom is really the go to get around quickly thing besides the fast travel stuff.
